Cardinal
Jonah Subramountian, known as Cardinal, believes every disaster is a miracle that arrived before anyone was ready. Raised in a secluded temple of the Creator, the mountain dwarf cleric learned faith, craft, and relentless cheer before a divine mishap carried him to Von Queef University. Now with My Alchemical Romance, Jonah heals wounds, lifts spirits, and meets despair with illegible pamphlets and unwavering conviction. His earthspeaking power steadies the ground beneath his friends, while his joy reminds them why they keep standing.

Open aspectMold Earth
Choose dirt, sand, clay, or stone within a 5-ft. cube in range. You may move loose earth up to 5 ft., mark stone or soil with shapes or words, or make the ground difficult terrain or normal terrain for 1 hour. You can maintain two non-instant effects at once.
Stone Chip
Launch a shard of stone at one creature within range. Make a ranged power attack. On a hit, the target takes 4 (1d8) bludgeoning damage.
Earth Tremor
The ground shakes around you. Creatures of your choice on the ground in the emanation must make a DEX save, taking 7 (2d6) bludgeoning damage and falling prone on a failed save, or half damage with no prone on a success. Loose earth or stone becomes difficult terrain until cleared.
Pebble Ward
When a creature you can see within range takes bludgeoning, piercing, or slashing damage, stones rise to intercept. Reduce the damage by your WIS modifier plus your proficiency bonus.
Stone Step
Until the end of your turn, you ignore difficult terrain made of earth, sand, mud, rubble, or stone, and your movement does not trigger unstable earth or loose-stone hazards.
Stone Grip
Choose one creature standing on earth or stone within range. It must make a STR save or have its speed reduced to 0 until the start of your next turn.
Erupting Earth
A fountain of earth and stone erupts in a 20-ft. cube centered on a point of ground within range. Creatures in the area must make a DEX save, taking 20 (3d12) bludgeoning damage on a failed save, or half as much on a success. The ground becomes difficult terrain until cleared.
Meld into Stone
Step into a stone object or surface large enough to contain your body. You and your equipment merge with it. You cannot see outside, but can hear faintly and remain aware of time. You may exit through the entry point by spending 5 ft. of movement. If the stone is broken so you no longer fit, you are expelled and take 6d6 force damage.
Wall of Sand
Create a wall of swirling sand on the ground within range, up to 30 ft. long, 10 ft. high, and 10 ft. thick. It blocks line of sight but not movement. A creature in the wall is blinded and must spend 3 ft. of movement for every 1 ft. it moves there.
Stone Pillar
Raise a 5-ft. diameter stone pillar up to 20 ft. high from earth or stone within range. A creature in the space must make a DEX save or be lifted by the pillar. The pillar has AC 15, 30 hit points, and immunity to poison and psychic damage.
Passwall
Create a passage through wood, plaster, packed earth, or stone within range. The opening can be up to 5 ft. wide, 8 ft. tall, and 20 ft. deep. When the passage closes, creatures and objects inside are safely ejected.
Transmute Rock
Choose stone or mud in a 40-ft. cube within range and change rock to mud or mud to soft stone. Rock turned to mud is difficult terrain and may restrain creatures on a failed STR save. Mud turned to stone may restrain creatures in it on a failed DEX save.

Raised in Skyreach Summit in a temple to the Creator. During Trixie’s Game Master Spectacle, Jonah signed Djeebus’s contract to save the party and bind them into Baron’s Queef Intelligence Initiative/New VQU plan. His prisoner in the game was Podon. At the Act 4 Point Pringle finale, Jonah recovered the remaining leaf after Titian was disintegrated while holding the Queefdom shell. In Act 5, Jonah kept the Knife of the Cardinal Carver and Chorus armor from Victor Shaw’s Aleklot’s Rest time-cache. In Paulus Levius Cathedral, Jonah refused Paulus Levius’s debt/slavery demand, solved the radiant/necrotic guardian puzzle with the party, was judged by Paulus Levius as possibly worthy to become a future Paragon of Djeebus, and received a consumable wish-bell ring. In Vithyrex’s Maze, Jonah met Aizan, learned the maze required understanding why the party was truly there, discovered the purple exit portal missing four heart segments, allied with Vala Gearsprocket and Wingkin prisoners including Helga Wingkin and Valbrandt Wingkin, gave Valbrandt Wingkin a carved cardinal, and found Podon Xopip Kelbar Lokas alive in a cell. In New Goblin City, Jonah fell through an owlbear nest while holding or claiming a Lloyd-corrupted owlbear egg, discovered the boost-pit settlement with Elmyra Manticore, and kept the party alive during the boosted phase spider fight through major healing and battlefield movement.
Maine enters the Queefdom election, Jonah and Ash receive unusual magic, Morgan meets her sister, and Vic's missing great axe is found in the dying Alexa B’Praghus.
storyArthur takes Elmyra toward VQU to gather institutional support while the rest of QUEST follows Valara and Emmy's lead toward Maine in Velvet Cross.
storyThe party argues through Velvet Cross sewer routes until Hugo's tunnel sense, Morgan's failed power play, and Maine's message point them toward the Rabe House entrance.
storyA Lawful patrol catches the party leaving the sewers near Rabe House until Maine appears as Master Rabe and orders the elves away.
storyMaine reunites with the party carrying My Angst, a prison manifesto that splits the room between suspicion, theology, opportunism, and rejection.
storySinclair presents Nora's Rabe House gifts: Bedrock Benediction, Equinox Binding Handwraps, Crimson Verdict, Blackwire Blade, Morgan's necrotic daggers, and Maine's private staff.
storyA Jericha side story centered on Jonah Subramountian and two fallen members of the Thieves Guild.
storyThe session resumed with Ash downed near the bridge and Castro attackers still active. Castro eldritch blasting knocked Ash into the runoff water, giving him two death failures before Jonah and the others stabilized the line. Jonah delivered major healing, Ash survived the water and hauled himself back up, Vic threw bodies and pushed forward, Morgan and Elmyra continued blasting, and Valara killed fleeing Castro while urging everyone toward the sewers.
storyAfter clearing more Castro from the bridge route, the party encountered frightened commoners trying to understand where to go. Jonah directed them toward Djon’s church or toward shelter in nearby buildings, while Ash supported hunkering down. Valara kept pushing the party onward, emphasizing that they needed to reach the sewer route while they still had a chance.
storyAs the party moved toward the Guild route, they heard screaming and Valara identified Emmy. Emmy was young, terrified, bleeding, and clutching a copper route token while trying to open the hidden Thieves Guild sewer entrance. A powerful Castro general stalked her and recognized the entrance. Valara stated they did not have enough to take him on directly, slipped on a ring, wished Arthur were there, and the Guild door opened further as Arthur/Authur stepped out. The Castro general void-blinked away rather than fight Arthur there.
storyInside the damaged Guild refuge, Arthur/Authur explained why he was there: fighting Castro incursions one battle at a time will keep losing ground because the real problem is the wound between worlds. He identified Ash/Foulcrum and Hollow/Alfred/Kuzon as rare void manipulators whose power could heal the Void rather than weaponize it. He proposed using Trixie’s drifting game realm as a staging ground close enough to the deepest void fractures to seal them.
storyQUEST began boxed into the alley/checkpoint after Valara exposed Fake Rill and Fake Redwave. The group confirmed the major route choices: south toward the gate/Aleron, west toward the bridge and sewers, north toward Djon's protection or the Lawful offices, with east blocked.
storyQUEST fought the first Castro wave in the alley. Vic raged and cut down attackers, Ash charged forward with monk strikes and redirected civilians, Morgan used necrotic touch, Elmyra used twinned Chromatic Orbs, Hugo joined from above, and Jonah supported the line.
storyThe battlefront and VQU sky battle advanced together. Centrum Security Forces fought Castro-controlled airships in the sky while civilians fled through the streets. Vic used a reaction to shield an elderly woman from falling stone, earning inspiration. Jonah used Mass Healing Word and received a clear approving sign from Jeebus.
storyAfter clearing the first alley area, the party debated priorities and locked in going west toward the bridge/sewer direction. They saved seven civilians and failed to save five, gaining two group inspiration. On the west bridge, Morgan unleashed Lightning Bolt and Elmyra followed with Fireball, revealing an illusion hiding civilians on or near the bridge. Ash used void manifestation/tentacle arms in the webbed bridge fight.

itemRare stone helm and holy-symbol focus gifted to Jonah at Rabe House. While worn and attuned, it reinforces Jonah's stone/earth form, grants a defensive stoneward, and helps anchor Creator/earthspeaking spell pressure. Exact table math is tracked on Jonah's character resource sheet.
itemYou gain a +2 bonus to Religion checks. When you use a spell of 1st level or higher to restore hit points to yourself or an ally, you restore a bonus action you have already expended on that turn. Recommended guardrail: this can occur once per turn, cannot store more than one bonus action, and does nothing unless the wearer already spent a bonus action. It triggers from actual hit point restoration, not temporary hit points or healing a creature already at full hit points.
itemWhen attuned, healing another creature with a spell of 1st level or higher may add 1d8 to one healing roll; Jonah takes radiant damage equal to the extra hit points restored. Once per long rest, cast Healing Word as a reaction when a nearby creature drops to 0 hit points.
itemA carved cardinal given by Jonah to Valbrandt Wingkin inside Vithyrex's Maze. It is currently a story token rather than a mechanical magic item.
item+1 dagger that counts as magical.
